Catalog# C594 Source HEK293 Description Recombinant Human Carboxypeptidase A4/CPA4 is produced with our mammalian expression system in human cells. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Gly17-Tyr421) of Human CPA4 fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus. Names Carboxypeptidase A4, Carboxypeptidase A3, CPA4, CPA3 Accession # Q9UI42 Formulation Supplied as a 0.2 μm filtered solution of 20mM Tris-HCl, 150mm NaCl, pH 7.5 Shipping The product is shipped on dry ice/ice packs. Storage Store at < -20°C, stable for 6 months after receipt.
Please minimize freeze-thaw cycles.Purity Greater than 95% as determined by SEC-HPLC and reducing SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin Less than 0.1 ng/µg (1 IEU/µg). Carboxypeptidases cleave amino acids from the C-terminus of proteins and peptides and many are metalloproteases. They have distinct expression patterns and different specificities for example, preferentially cleaving aromatic (carboxypeptidase As) or basic (carboxypeptidase Bs) residues. Several, such as carboxypeptidase Xs, have lost their catalytic activity. Carboxypeptidases play important roles in digestion of food, processing of bioactive peptides and blood coagulation. In contrast to procarboxypeptidase B which was always secreted by the pancreas as a monomer, procarboxypeptidase A occurs as a monomer and/or associated to one or two functionally different proteins, such as zymogen E, and is involved in zymogen inhibition.
