Catalog# CD46 Source Human Cells Description Recombinant Human CD95/Fas/TNFRSF6 is produced by our mammalian expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Gln26-Asn173) of Human FAS fused with a FC tag at the C-terminus. Names Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 6, also known as Apo-1 antigen, Apoptosis-mediating surface antigen FAS, FASLG receptor, APT1, FAS1, TNFRSF6 and FAS, is a single-pass type I membrane protein. It has been shown that FAS is involved in the physiological regulation of programmed cell death, and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various malignancies and diseases of the immune system. FADD (adapter molecule) recruits caspase-8 to the activated receptor, the resulting death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) performs caspase-8 proteolytic activation which initiates the subsequent cascade of caspases mediating apoptosis. FAS-mediated apoptosis may play a role in the induction of peripheral tolerance, in the antigen-stimulated suicide of mature T-cells, or both.
