Catalog# CF30 Source E.coli Description Recombinant Human Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme E2 I/UBE2I is produced with our E. coli expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Met1-Ser158) of Human UBE2I fused with a GST tag at the N-terminus. Names SUMO-Conjugating Enzyme UBC9, SUMO-Protein Ligase, Ubiquitin Carrier Protein 9, Ubiquitin Carrier Protein I, Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme E2 I, Ubiquitin-Protein Ligase I, p18, UBE2I, UBC9, UBCE9 Accession # P63279 Formulation Supplied as a 0.2 μm filtered solution of 50mM HEPES, 150mM NaCl, pH 7.5 Shipping The product is shipped on dry ice/ice packs. Storage Store at < -20°C, stable for 6 months after receipt.
Please minimize freeze-thaw cycles.Purity Greater than 95% as determined by SEC-HPLC and reducing SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin Less than 0.1 ng/μg (1 IEU/μg). UBC9 is homologous to ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s). However, instead of conjugating ubiquitin, UBC9 conjugates a ubiquitin homologue, Small Ubiquitin-Like Modifier 1 (SUMO-1). The conjugation of ubiquitin requires the activities of ubiquitin-activating (E1) and conjugating (E2) enzymes. It is suggested that UBC9 might play a role in DNA repair and perhaps even in aging.
